TO DO
Walking.
I go in and out of phases when it comes to exercise. Last month I biked and biked and biked and biked, until I couldn’t bring myself to go to our workout floor any longer. This month, it’s about walking. I usually have TV control in the workout room, and so I’ve been doing two hours on the treadmill while I watch my favorite TV shows. I tell myself I only have to walk, and that there’s no pressure to go fast or uphill, but my competitive side always wins and I usually end up running for a total of 35 minutes over the two hours.
TO SEE
The Greatest Showman.
Jake and I have an extensive movie list during the oscar season, but this was one of our first stops. The greatest showman has a fun storyline about P.T. Barnum, an amazing soundtrack, beautiful costumes and sets, and the movie really just touches your heart. I laughed and cried, and swooned over these characters.
Also, to my medical school readers, I seriously couldn’t stop thinking about “P. T. Barnum Loves Kids” and working to remember what the point of that sentence was. (I eventually remembered)
TO TRY
Nightly antioxidants.
Antioxidants are what take your daily damage and fix it before it damages you. You need this on your skin to prevent wrinkles and sun damage. A few rules for picking include making sure they are “proven” antioxidants (pick Vitamins A, C, and E or Green Tea) Take your pick of brands, but make sure the company keeps these antioxidants stable by storing them in pump (instead of a jar with a twist top) and make sure they are not in a clear container. Companies can technically mislead you legally and so follow that guide so you aren’t wasting your money on “antioxidants” that broke apart before you could even put them on your skin.
Splurge (the cream of the crop - the best way to delay any wrinkles or firm up the ones you have):

TO MAKE
Orange Chicken
This recipe has been a favorite at our house the past month. I have been pan frying chicken pieces, but if you have an air fryer or deep fat fryer I’m sure that would be faster. Otherwise you could also buy frozen breaded chicken pieces and just make the sauce. This sauce tastes as good as takeout, you’ll want to give it a try!
TO READ
This book is about a town that looks perfect from the outside, but you quickly find out that everyone’s lives here are not as flawless as they appear. I flew through this book, and loved the characters and storyline that kept me intrigued with surprises.
TO TASTE
Templeton Rye Whiskey
Most of my friends have tasted this rye whiskey, and it’s smooth finish makes it some of the easiest whiskey to drink neat or on the rocks. It dates back to the prohibition, and has flavors of rye and cinnamon (but obviously not in a fireball type fashion).
If Al Capone loved it, then it has to be good - right? PS Hy-vee usually has this on sale
