So many people I follow on instagram have adopted the trend of tying a silk scarf around their hair this summer. Silk scarves have been a fashion staple for the fancy forever (Hermes, Valentino, Gucci to name a few). So when I snagged a couple silk replicas at the hotel gift shop in Kearney I knew I wanted to give this trend a shot. I was surprised while on vacation how it made my simple black swimwear suddenly seem classy and fabulous. The texture of the smooth scarf really brought my outfit to a new level. It kept my hair tied back while reading books along the beach and on our morning walks.
Back home in Omaha it's a little tougher to wear this trend, but farmer's markets, walks along the river or parks, beside the pool, picnics, lunch and even a quick grocery run are all places where this is totally acceptable. I like to keep my outfit calm with neutral colors if I'm wearing such a bright scarf in my hair!
