flatiron district

I'm working on a post of our itinerary for NYC this week, but for now I want to talk about a few favorites from the Flatiron District. We stayed a few different locations this week. One of my favorite parts of our trip was in this area just because it was so much quieter than the other areas we stayed. Jake and I got up on a Saturday morning and walked all the way to Greenwich Village enjoying coffee, donuts, cronuts, Washington Square Park, the Friends apartment, shopping, and then two pizzas of course!

We stayed at multiple hotels in the city, but here we stayed at the New York Edition and it was a beautiful hotel. Decked out in the wonderful Le Labo scents (toiletries and candles), it was a little overpowering scent wise. I mean, it can give you a headache

FlatIron Dinner options: Upland // ABC Cocina // ABC Kitchen // Eataly // The Clocktower

*We didn't go to all of these obviously but they were on my list after reading reviews and taking NYorker's recs.

Also worth mentioning on our long walk that Saturday we stopped at The Donut Pub (highly recommended but I don't recommend) and Jake stopped by Dominique Ansel's bakery (original cronut). This cronut he stated was the best thing he's eaten, ever. See photos below of his pure joy.

We had a blast at a nearby rooftop bar called 230 Fifth where we ate appetizers and drank pina coladas out of pineapples during happy hour in snuggies. This rooftop is New York's largest rooftop garden and even has igloos during the colder months. It's fun if you aren't outside too, awesome atmosphere for drinks.

And last, but not least, Jake and his beloved Cranberry Pistachio Cronut.
