scents to transition to fall

I usually am not a lover of floral scented perfumes. They either remind me of horrible allergies and bumble bees (that may cause another anaphylaxis) or of the give-me-headaches concentrated scent of all of the women at church. The past three springs and summers I've found a few scents that have stayed with me and are the perfect way to transition from summer to fall.

1. Daisy Marc Jacobs

This was the first floral scent I loved. It's more of a mix of a bouquet of scents instead of just a daisy. It's less of a fresh scent, and more of a seductive scent. The best part of this perfume is that it stays on your skin a long time, you don't need to respray.

2. Jo Malone Mix: Wood Sage and Sea Salt + Peony and Blush Suede

I love these scents separately, but when put together they are perfect! Musk, marine, and sea salt combined with a big bouquet of peonies and notes of leather sound like a lot, but somehow blend for a wonderful scent that reminds me of a "cool girl" who just naturally smells like this. I layered these two thanks to advice from their website. My only complaint is that it seems not to last as long on my skin as I'd hope, I bought the travel sizes so they are easy to throw in my purse if I really want to.

3. Chanel No. 5 L'eau

The original Chanel No. 5 is legendary. This L'eau scent was created by the son of the creator of the original No 5. This new scent came out last fall, and was meant to capture the younger audience. It's a lighter interpretation than the original (thank goodness) Chanel describes this scent as lemon, mandarin, and orange that transforms to rose and jasmine and later fades to cedar, cotton, and musk. That's a complex scent. My interpretation is that it goes on "fresh" like the fruit scent described and it smells very clean - like you just stepped out of the shower. Later, it does fade into a warmer home-y comfortable scent. It's something you could wear everyday without worrying about overspraying or giving someone a headache- it's not a harsh scent at all. L'eau is an everyday scent that won't bother your coworkers, it's been my signature scent since Jake gifted it to me on Valentine's Day. (Yes, I did end up pick it out myself ha!)
