So most in the midwest refer to this as puppy chow, but the more common term is muddy buddies everywhere else.
Once I developed a peanut allergy, I kissed my puppy chow days goodbye.
Then I discovered Biscoff Cookie Butter (made in a nut free facility allergic friends!) .
Even if you don't have a peanut allergy, this spin on the classic recipe is one to try out!
Have you tried cookie butter? What else do you eat it on?
I'm in love!
You'll need:
4 and 1/2 Cups Rice Cereal
1/4 Cup of Cookie Butter
1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Cup Powdered sugar (keep some extra on hand)
Instructions
1. Spread the rice cereal on a pan lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup. Put powdered sugar in gallon size Ziploc bag.
2. In a microwavable safe container place butter, cookie butter, chocolate chips, and vanilla together and microwave for 30 seconds.
3. Stir mixture and microwave another 30 as needed until soft and creamy. Mine never got as creamy as the classic peanut butter mixture, but just make sure it's melted.
4. Dump the microwaved mixture over the rice cereal and stir. Using clean hands is easiest to thoroughly coat the cereal.
5. Put the chocolate mixture covered rice cereal into the Ziploc bag with powdered sugar and shake.
