TO DO
Take a bath.
Some people are not "bath people" but I've found that if you find the right bath additions, then it makes for a much more comfortable environment. Turn on some music or pick up a book. Don't forget a bath pillow (or towel for your head), candle, and a cold drink! There are so many bath add ins. Nothing compares to the LUSH brand bath products (bombs and bubble bars) but these aromatherapy salts are very nice!! Hot water dries out skin so adding in this coconut oil milk powder or using these bars will keep your skin super soft.
TO SEE
I, Tonya.
We watched this in the old (newly renovated) Dundee Theater and it was hilarious, snarky, and overall a really great film. If you are unaware of Tonya Harding, was raised in a poor white family and was the first US woman to nail the triple axel in competition and the second to do it in history. She is "a character" and a tomboy and faced many hardships in her life - definitely not the typical figure skater. She was accused of having men beat the knees of fellow US Olympian skater. We watched the ABC interview special beforehand to get a better idea of what went on. She very obviously has issues, and the movie takes "her side" of the story, while the ABC interview did not really. Don't miss out on this movie!
TO TRY
Vitamin D3.
It's important for many body processes. Obviously you need it to build bone mass. It's important to build peak bone mass in your young adult life (20s for women, 30s for men) because after that, you only lose bone mass. Lifting weights is one way to build bone mass, but taking Vitamin D3 along with calcium intake helps. There are studies showing vitamin D3 plays an essential role in the immune system, helps regulate hormones, supports cardiovascular health, has a role in pain management, and lowers the risk of diabetes. Vitamin D deficiency has also been associated in Alzheimers, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, hypertension, however, more research is being done in those areas. Pay attention to the pill bottle label dosing, because you can accumulate toxic doses of Vitamin D!! Don't take more than 4000 IU unless instructed to by your doctor. Try 1000 IU or 1200 IU of Vitamin D3 per day.
TO READ
I'm HOOKED on this series. The storyline is about an American born Chinese girl who falls in love with a boy and he surprises her by taking her to Singapore where he's from. He is INSANELY rich, like... some of the richest in the world, and she had no idea. She doesn't fit in. It's hilarious to see how these people live, and his characters are all based on people the author knows! There's a movie coming out next year, and so check out this book before then! Love this book for a laughable page turner after a long day!
TO MAKE
Gaby's spinach artichoke dip is amazing! We made it for the Super Bowl, and I can't wait to make it again soon!
TO TASTE
Trader Joe's Macaroni and Cheese.
Reserved for cheat days, but Trader Joe's macaroni and cheese is to die for. The gouda, swiss, and havarti cheeses bring so much flavor that I'm surprised it's frozen. If you want to make it extra indulgent, add bacon! This is one of the items we stock up on when we make a Trader Joe's trip - we have four in our freezer right now :)
