When I wasn't working, I loved searching for drugstore beauty recommendations from others. There are some hidden treasures at Walmart/Walgreens/Target and here are the items that I continue to purchase.
This lotion seems to last longer than other classic brands on me. I use it daily to keep my spray tan from shedding off (I'm sure I could word that better but ? ) This is one we always repurchase.
These makeup brushes are my favorite, especially the blending brush! I heard about them from beauty bloggers and agree 100% if you don't have a good blending brush then get this one. I use it for blending foundation some days, contour, or if your blush is "sticking" in a certain spot it'll help spread it out. I've seen them in store at Walgreens and Target.
This concealer is a good pick because it's creamy, and doesn't sit in the cracks of your skin. I find that most concealers are so dry that it makes me look ten years older than I am. This version is supposed to rival the NARS cream concealer. Remember to choose a shade slightly lighter for brightening effects.
I love the Essie Gel line. It dries SO fast and it actually stays on my nails. The regular Essie polishes and every other brand just peel off in layers (even with a base coat). I've found that "roughing up" my nails with a buffing stick (is that what they are called?) helps the polish adhere as well. My favorite every day color is "Flashed".
This eyeliner is comparable to the cult favorite Stila one that is much more expensive. I don't wear eyeliner a lot, but I've owned both of the ones I mentioned and if you are looking for a good liquid one, then this is a great pick.
I've talked about this hairspray before - but it's the only kind I use now. I love how you can layer it by using a light spray when you still want soft waves and adding more if you want it to be more like glue. I get the kind with the UV filter but I'm sure all of them work similarly.
Everyone needs a daily face sunscreen and your spf in your makeup doesn't count. Believe me when I tell you that mineral sunscreens are better. The problem with mineral sunscreens is cheaper ones leave a white sheen on your face. This one from Blue Lizard not only has mineral agents for protection (Zinc), it has antioxidants and hyaluronic acid which are all great for your face! I recommend the Blue Lizard Face sunscreen especially if you have dry skin, or if you are going outside. If you have acne prone skin and work mostly indoors, you could try a lighter formulation like this one. Don't forget to reapply halfway through the day!
