It retails at $1500 (no, we did NOT spend this much) so it must be good, right? IT IS, I have been making pizzas ever since we bought it for my birthday last year. So perfectly leopard spotted on the bottom , full of the charred crust taste, it's better than almost all the restaurants quality wise in the area.
For <$10, this rose hip oil amazes me. It has become a staple to my routine. Every morning (that I can remember) or on post call days I do a small facial massage and drain the swelling from my face. I didn't believe the claims at first and wanted to see how well it worked, but I was surprised by my cheekbones that came back into view and that my undereye puff disappeared. Facial massage is supposed to be anti aging as well by promoting blood flow. This oil itself leaves you with a dewy glow and is a great foundation primer.
There are many videos on how to massage your face to drain it, but I start at the forehead and work my way down to my neck. In total I spend 3-5 minutes doing this.
Total game changer here. I love, love, love this dry shampoo. Not only is it non-aerosol so it won't damage the ozone, but it' works. A trick I learned from someone is to spray the roots of your hair before going to bed so they are "grey" in color and then brush what's left out with a boar brush to coat your strands. I have brown hair at my roots and don't have a problem with it being "grey" once the product is distributed. The bottle doesn't spray, so you just squeeze it and a puff of powder comes out. It doesn't feel sticky or gross afterwards and a little goes a long way. I still am on my first bottle, and I only wash my hair with real shampoo 1-2x per week. I used to love Oribe's and Elizabeth and James's dry shampoos the most, but this one works just as well and is half the price.
I have two planner brands I highly recommend . I love this one, which allows you to plan out each day (also reviewed here) and this one where you get to design online your entire planner. I keep my planner on a side table in the living room and check it every morning before going to work. I love recording food plans, tracking workouts, study goals, travel plans, and to do lists in mine.
Headbands
Could I really not mention headbands when I'm writing a favorite post about my favorite purchases of 2019? I have developed quite the collection this year. I started small with the smaller $12 version from anthropologie or these gucci inspired ones from amazon, but it escalated to bigger, handmade versions quickly. The "wow factor" is definitely in more in the handmade pieces. My handmade headbands are all from Etsy, although I did take advantage of the massive sale Jennifer Behr had on Black Friday!
Libby App
This app was technically free via the app store, but it's how I've been reading so many books this year! I downloaded the app and plugged in my library card # and I instantly had access to any book I wanted for free. I do waitlist myself on the most popular books, but there's always something for me to read (or listen to via audiobook). I follow some good bookstagrammers on instagram so I can anticipate which books will be popular and get on their waitlists quick.
Olive and June is a nail salon in LA that had the cutest neutral manicures on instagram. They developed a line of neutral nail polishes that are fantastic. Recently they expanded to include more colors to their collection as well. I do not have good nail polish nails, nothing ever sticks to them and polish comes off in layers. I always need to buff them and use a basecoat before applying any polish, and then a topcoat after. Even doing that, I would still have this problem with every brand except two brands: Olive and June and Aila. I highly recommend checking both brands out! I can go a week without changing my color and the Aila gel topcoat is truly amazing!
Everyday Sunglasses
I picked up my pair gently used from Poshmark (where I bought some awesome sweaters this year too!) , but I love Anine Bing's sunglasses. Not only do they have my initials on them, but they also are perfect for small heads and fit snug without falling down my face. Blocking that UV any way I can!
This might be strange to list, but I can't get enough of these tiny pens for work (and for my planner). You can't find 0.28 pens at any stores I've been to, so amazon is the place to go. I used to buy the colored set, but now I stick with the solid black pack.
